Child Therapy

Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul.
— Friedrich Froebel

Play is the language of children, it’s the way they can express themselves and their feelings.  It is also the medium through which children can make sense of their experience and practice integrating new beliefs and skills. Play therapy is a powerful way for children to process their experience in a way that honors their way of experiencing the world.  Play therapy can be a powerful tool in helping with all of the situations below.

  • Your child has emotional outbursts that feel out of proportion to the situation.

  • Your child struggles with making healthy decisions.

  • Temper tantrums are a constant in your home.

  • Social situations are difficult and your child seems to feel isolated or lonely.

  • No matter what you suggest, your child has no interest in trying something new.

  • Your kiddo worries often or can become paralyzed by fear.

  • Your child has experienced a traumatic event or ongoing abuse and they need help making sense of that experience.

  • Your child is angry and you’re not sure how to help them express those feelings in a safe way.
