Adolescent Therapy

In youth, our blood rises and becomes volatile. Desire, worry, and anxiety increase. External circumstances now direct the rise and fall of emotions. Competition, conflict, and scheming are the norm in interactions with people. The approval and disapproval of others become important and the honest and sincere expression of thoughts and feelings is lost.

Let's face it...

adolescence is a time of sensory and emotional overload! Hormones are raging, peer groups are often shifting, identity confusion is at an all time high and you both simultaneously want complete independence and to be taken care of.  How confusing!  Therapy is a place to make sense of that experience and to have a safe place to explore who you want to be in the world.  If any of the following sound familiar, I can help!

  • You want to build healthy relationships, but keep hanging around people that you're not even sure you like.

  • You are filled with fear and anxiety and don’t know how to manage it.

  • You are struggling with thoughts of self-harm or suicide.

  • You wish you didn’t fight with your parents all the time, but you feel like they don’t understand you.

  • You’ve experienced a trauma and need help healing from and integrating that experience

  • You wish you could accept your body for just the way it is

  • You want to explore your gender identity and gender expression without feeling like you have to have any answers

  • You need help coming-out to the people in your life
